Block Party!

Our new street - Forest Avenue - had a block party this weekend and Adam and family got to meet all the neighbors...there are 2 other little boys his age and plenty of other kids to go around.  Everyone was really nice and we are even more excited to be here.  Adam watched the older kids in the moon bounce for a while and decided he wanted to go in - when it was empty his dad took him in and quickly Adam changed his mind and wanted back out!

I'm a penguin!

After a good lunch with Grandma and Grandpa, Adam went to the Shedd Aquarium to check out the new oceanarium...he even got to see a rehearsal performance of their new show 'Fantasea' which he sat through absolutely mesmerized by belugas, dolphins and penguins.

Before the show we tried on penguin costumes and splashed in the touch pool. It was a great day and a great way to spend his Grandpa's birthday with him - happy birthday Grandpa Wolfe!

(belated) Happy Father's Day!

Adam and his Dad had a good time together on Father's Day....we spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa Wolfe's and got to visit with my Aunts and their families.  Then Mark and I went to the Phish show at Alpine Valley that night and had surprisingly amazing seats...what a great father's day if I do say so myself!

Family fun

Adam and I have been busy exploring Oak Park (when it's not storming outside) and busy unpacking our stuff...for a while there we lost our camera so we're finally posting some pictures.  

Here's a few shots from my cousin Brittani's high school graduation party yesterday.  

One of the great things about moving back to the Chicago area is we get to do all the family events we missed while in New York.

Adam's Grandma and Grandpa Iwanski came over today and helped with the yard work - it was finally not raining today!  Adam and his always present yellow shovel pitched in to help - he dug quite a dirt hole.  We're slowly but surely getting unpacked and more comfortable here...

I'm 13 months old!

Adam is 13 months old today...he celebrated by moving into his 1st house! We now live in Oak Park, IL and pictures will follow.
For now we are so overwhelmed with unpacking and settling in that I could only find a very old picture of Adam on an old laptop...he is maybe a week old here. New pictures to follow soon!!

Beach bum

It was a beautiful day in Crystal Lake so we headed to the beach...while we were there AJ tried to join 2 other families (we think it was only for their toys). 

Another day, another garden to tend to

Adam spent some time looking at flowers at a community demonstration garden yesterday and thought he'd help out by bringing his own shovel and doing some work.  Afterwards he took a fun trip to Menards and discovered some very cool purple sand to play in.  Seems like the perfect addition for his water/sand table at home...

We spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Iwanski and besides getting to play with his Aunts and getting a new car (!) he loved playing corn hole....as you can see he might have made up a few rules of his own...
